Representatives of Buckhorn, Cheswick and Kingsborough neighborhoods,
As you can see there is construction along 141st Street between Ivy Bridge and Ditch Road. The City of Carmel Utilities is installing a new water main which will provide a secondary feed of water to the Cheswick Place and Kingsborough Sub-Divisions.
This water main will allow for a better flow of water during times of peak demands created by summer irrigation and to ensure an adequate supply of water for fire protection. It also allows for more reliable service in that it provides a backup to the current line in the event of a water main break. The new line will also assist in moving more water to the west for future development.
We will restore the area disturbed by construction this fall, but it is likely that additional final restoration will be needed in the spring. Restoration includes grass, as well as any damage to curbs, sidewalks and landscaping.
I have also been asked if there are any planned road expansions for 141st. I have checked with our engineering department and there are no plans to expand 141st street at least through 2012. As always this may change depending on funding availability and growth needs.
We thank you for your patience during this period of construction. Please forward this information to the residents of your neighborhoods. If you have any questions concerning the project, please feel free to give me a call.
